日本人が非母語話者として英語を学習したり、英語を指導したり、英語を使ったりすることについて批判的応用言語学の視点から研究しています。特に、英語圏以外の国で専門教育を英語で受けること(English Medium Instruction: EMI)、Translanguagingなどの複数言語リソースの活用、非母語話者英語教員のエンパワメントに興味があります。また、人と言語の関係だけではなく、人の言語活動へのさまざまな外的要因の関係性にも関心があり、ポスト人文主義(Posthumanism)や新唯物論(Newmaterialism)の視点を利用した研究のあり方を追求しています。
