皮膚再生医療における3要素は、細胞と細胞成長因子と生体材料である。熱傷や外傷性皮膚欠損傷の治療に使用する「創傷被覆材」と「培養真皮」の研究開発を行った。前者は細胞成長因子と生体材料を応用し、後者は細胞と生体材料を応用した。また、腹腔内手術時に使用する「組織癒着防止材」は細胞成長因子と生体材料を応用して研究開発を行った。
